Introduction
As a company within the meaning of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG), we are required to make our website accessible. We are implementing the legal requirements step by step and strive to provide all users with the most unrestricted access possible to our digital services. This statement applies to the website
kopp.eu
support.kopp.eu
produkte.kopp.eu
Status of compliance with the requirements
Our website is currently partially compliant with the requirements of the BFSG. Content and features are being continuously reviewed and expanded. A new assessment – either through self-evaluation or by external parties – is planned for the end of next year. Necessary adjustments to the website are being made as part of ongoing development.
Non-accessible content
The following content is currently not fully accessible:
- PDF documents: Some documents are (still) not accessible. We are working on accessible alternatives.
- Forms: Some forms are currently not accessible. These are being gradually converted into accessible formats. If you require a form or other document that is not yet accessible, please contact us.
- Videos: Some embedded videos currently lack subtitles. We aim to provide subtitles for all videos in the future.
- Subtitles cannot be added to Vimeo videos (EN 301 549 V3.1.1 Section 7.1.1 „Captioning playback“).
- Embedded videos with activated subtitles (YouTube) lack synchronized captioning (EN 301 549 V3.1.1 Section 7.1.2 „Captioning synchronization“).
- Videos containing relevant visual information do not have audio descriptions or full-text alternatives. (WCAG Success Criterion 1.2.3). Vimeo videos cannot be provided with subtitles (EN 301 549 V3.1.1, Section 7.1.1).
- Images without alternative text: Some images on the website lack alternative text. We are continuously reviewing and updating this content. (WCAG Success Criterion 1.1.1).
- Subheadings are occasionally not marked as headings (WCAG Success Criterion 1.3.1).
- There are isolated empty paragraph elements in the HTML (WCAG Success Criterion 1.3.1).
- Some text graphics are used without alternative text (WCAG Success Criterion 1.4.5).
- Some buttons are not properly labeled, e.g., missing ARIA labels, which can make their functions unclear for screen reader users.
- There are occasional contrast issues between text and background, especially for elements like links or headings, which affect readability.
- Foreign-language words and sections are sometimes not marked appropriately. English and French terms are occasionally missing the “lang” attribute.
- Error indication: Form errors are not correctly displayed.
Supportive measures
1. Personal contact We offer support in using our website via e‑mail: E‑mail: compliance@kopp.eu
2. OneTap widget (optional)
Our website uses the OneTap accessibility tool. This includes the following features:
- Adjustable font type, size, and line spacing
- Dyslexia-friendly font
- Color contrast modes (light, dark, inverted, monochrome)
- Grayscale mode
- Enlarged mouse pointer
- Highlighting of links and headings
- Customizable mouse color and virtual keyboard
- Text-to-speech function
- Disable animations
- Mute website sounds
The widget can be operated using both mouse and keyboard. More information: www.wponetap.com Note: These functions are intended as supplementary assistance and do not replace a fully accessible website design. Our efforts to ensure fundamental accessibility remain unaffected.
Barriers due to disproportionate burden
Some barriers currently cannot be removed due to economic reasons:
- Complex interactive content: Achieving full accessibility would involve a disproportionate amount of effort.
- Historic content: Older content created before the introduction of current standards may not be accessible. New content is created according to current standards.
We continually evaluate possibilities for improvement but cannot eliminate all barriers immediately due to high costs.
