Which fine wire fuse is used in dimmat and dimmer?
For our phase control dimmer (dimmer/dimmat for conventional transformers), you need a time-lag 1.6A fine wire fuse. Our phase control dimmers (dimmers for electronic transformers) are equipped with an electronic fuse, which does not have to be replaced.
What distance (center to center) must be observed for hollow-wall socket for multible combinations?
The distance is 71 mm. This measure applies for all switch programmes.
What does the specification 250/10 (4)AX~ mean for the room thermostat "opener"?
The room thermostat is to be operated at 220-250V~, the maximum load is 10 A~ for resistive load and 4 A~ for inductive load, X stands for solid fluorescent lamps.
Can flexible cables also be connected to a UP/AP shockproof socket?
The terminals of the UP/AP-shockproof socket are tested for rigid cables or wires. In the case of flexible cables, the wires are usually tin-plated. However, for safety reasons flexible cables may not be connected to UP/AP shockproof sockets as a rule, even if they are connected to the terminals after the tin-plating. The use of ferrules is not allowed either.
Where can I get support or help with the installation?
General information on installation can be found in the practical tips section and on our installation blog.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide detailed instructions or exact connection information over the phone as we are not familiar with your installation and the situation on the ground.
Always observe our safety instructions and the currently valid provisions and, if in doubt, ask a local expert for advice.
The glow lamp on the control is not lighting up even though the load is switched on (bulb).
Possible errors: a) glow lamp is incorrectly installed in the switch (remedy – turn glow lamp 90° or 180° in the socket) (b) no neutral conductor connected (in contrast to the O/T switch, a neutral conductor must also be connected)
Why might conventional transformers hum when dimming?
The steel core of the transformer consists of individual metal layers that may contain air inclusions. When dimming, a slight hum can be generated. If you therefore recommend an electronic transformer, pay attention to the VA power of the phase dimmer.
Do the child protection covers have to be screwed on?
No, the centre hole is for removing the child protection cover. The child protection cover is pressed onto the base of the socket, finished. The shockpoof socket screw must not under any circumstance be used to affix the child protection cover. The image on the packaging shows an arrow and not a screw.
When does the glow lamp light up in the case of off/toggle switch lighting?
If the load is switched off (bulb), the glow lamp lights up as an orientation light in the dark.
What does conventional transformer and electronic transformer mean?
A conventional transformer has a steel core wrapped in copper and is therefore larger and heavier than an electronic transformer. An electronic transformer is smaller and lighter. A conventional transformer is required when dimming a phase control dimmer, an electronic transformer is required for a trailing-edge phase dimmer.
My switch frame is loose and the rocker cannot be switched properly?
Here, the metal spring drive is still sitting on the switch base. This must be removed and plugged in again after repositioning the frame. (Please note the diagram on the packaging!)
Is it possible to toggle switch with the dimmat?
Yes, the dimmat combined with a button results in a toggle switch, which can even be dimmed using the button.
My dimmat is not working, even though it is connected correctly?
In order to protect the device itself, we have a time-lag 1.6A fuse (part number 3264 00087) upstream. Pull the fuse holder up and replace the fuse in place there
Can a TV/RF/SAT socket be wired through?
This antenna socket is designed as a single socket and not as a pass-through socket.
How do you open the switch for AP/FR Nautic without damaging it?
At the top or bottom of the rockers, recesses are provided to make it easy to lift the rocker with a screwdriver
Is there also a dimmat as a trading-edge phase dimmer?
No, the dimmat is suitable for incandescent and 230V halogen as well as low-voltage halogen lamps with conventional transformers 40-400VA
What is the article number for a 2-pin off switch?
In the specialist trade programme, we carry the appropriate socket. You will find these in the “Kopp Professional” section under the article number 50320 0004
Can a TV/RF socket be used for SAT-reception?
